Hands on Greenville Day

Northwestern Mutual participated in the United Way’s Hands on Greenville Day, which is an annual city-wide day of volunteering. In 2017, our office helped improve the landscape and outside areas of a non-profit called Upstate Circle of Friends, which is committed to expanding opportunities, enhancing the quality of life, and the progression of at-risk children and children with disabilities.

Northwestern Mutual Community Service Award-Gateway House

In 2012, Greenville’s Steve Grant was honored by SC Governor Nikki Haley and the Northwestern Mutual Foundation with a Community Service Award for devoting 22 years of service to improve mental health resources in front of friends, family and colleagues. It was an honor to celebrate Steve’s Community Service Award and give a $10,000 grant to Gateway House, the premier adult mental health resource for the Greenville community whose proven “Clubhouse” Model offers a sense of hope, confidence and belonging. That same year, Steve founded Chris and Kelly’s HOPE Foundation to financially assist other programs and organizations that strive to help adolescents and young adults struggling with substance abuse, addiction and depression after his two son’s dies from drug addiction. Steve is an inspiration to us all.
